The development on Albany’s Princess Royal Harbour will provide a significant economic boost for Albany and the Great Southern region.

The creation of waterfront accommodation, conference, dining and entertainment facilities will draw additional visitors to the area, directly supporting local businesses.

The Albany Waterfront development is expected to create about 115 jobs during construction and more than 800 jobs post construction.

The State Government has committed more than $65 million to the development and construction of the waterfront and Albany Entertainment Centre. The project is also forecast to generate about $60 million in private investment and up to $400 million in economic activity for the region to 2020.

The development covers a total area of approximately 5.5 ha, which includes freehold land (2.8 ha): retail, commercial, entertainment centre (0.84 ha) and hotel; and leasehold land (0.4 ha): marine related commercial and industrial uses.
