EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NOW CLOSED

Expressions of Interest to build the first 4 star or higher waterfront hotel and short stay apartments in Albany have now closed.

OTHER NEWS

Site works for Stage 2 of the Waterfront are on schedule for completion in late 2010 and include construction of the marina and breakwater, earthworks for the hotel and short stay accommodation site and commercial site to the east of the jetty.

Due to construction works and in the interest of public safety, the area along Princess Royal Drive and the public access to the boat ramp and Toll Place has been closed.  Limited access is available to the Boat Shed, and the Jetty is now partially demolished.  Alternative berths and parking for charter boat services are located near the Boat Shed.

Boat pens in the new Marina, which will be managed by the Department of Transport, are scheduled for release in early 2011.

Work for the Albany Entertainment Centre commenced in 2009 and is on track to be completed in mid 2010.
