Stage 1 civil works at The Waterfront at Albany are now complete, with Stage 2 set to begin in mid 2009 following the recent environmental approval.

The tender for Stage 2 civil works, which includes earthworks for the hotel and short stay accommodation sites, construction of the marina and the breakwater has been awarded.

Work for the Albany Entertainment Centre has commenced and is on track to be completed in 2010. The development sites, including the hotel and short stay accommodation, will be released later this year with harbour pens in the marina available in 2011.

On the 4th of March 2008, visitors and locals were able to walk the full length of the pedestrian bridge and have access to the landscaped plaza for the very first time. The project’s flythrough was also shown, which provides a clear 3D depiction of what the completed development could look like.

We have also released (December 2007) an information brochure (8MB) which outlines the plan for the waterfront was developed, the history of its evolution, what each precinct will mean to the people of Albany, and the responsibility of each agency.
