Rockingham Waterfront Village

Rockingham Waterfront Village is a key RKDO project undertaken in partnership with LandCorp and the City of Rockingham.

The Village is located near the Rockingham foreshore and integrates first class community facilities with residential developments.  The home sites have building guidelines to ensure a high quality residential development that suits local streetscapes.

The first development stage was completed in August 2005 and involved the transformation of the former Rockingham Oval into a Village Green featuring the stunning new war memorial, children’s playground, pathways and extensive public art featuring an impressive water feature by a local artist.  The new Village Green is located on the doorstep of Waterfront Village residents.

Gary Holland Community Centre and Village Square now open

The Rockingham Waterfront Village Square was officially opened on 17 December by City Minister for Planning; Culture and the Arts, John Day MLA.

The opening was celebrated with an interactive, open-air event based around two art sculptures situated in the Village Square, that were commissioned by the City of Rockingham.

The local sculptors were on hand to discuss their artwork, before the Square was officially handed over to City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels with a plaque unveiling.

The opening event was a big success and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The RKDO is proud to be a part of the Rockingham Waterfront Village project.

The recently opened Gary Holland Community Centre is already being enjoyed by the community, offering a range of business, tourism and community activities as well providing for civic and social functions, conferences and seminars.

Situated right next to the Village Square, it provides an opportunity for major community events to combine both indoor and outdoor elements.
